As the field of crisis/hostage negotiation continues to evolve, so too must policy, planning, training, technology, and equipment.

On April 8th, experts from throughout the United States, and representing a myriad of disciplines, agencies and areas of expertise, will assemble for an online discussion of the most important issues facing crisis negotiators in law enforcement and corrections.

The panel includes risk managers, trainers, mental health professionals, leaders, and authors – all of whom are recognized nationally for their unique qualifications and contributions to the field of Crisis Negotiation.

Due to time limitations, participants are encouraged to submit their questions in advance when they register.  Similar questions will be grouped and forwarded to the panel member(s) for whom the question mostly aptly applies. On April 8th, the panel member will answer the question and lead a discussion on submitted topics.

Questions may address such issues as negotiation strategy, terminology, team composition, equipment, training, policy, risk management, emerging trends, and advocacy for teams struggling for relevance within their agency.  For those who are unable to attend this virtual event, you may submit a question and later receive a panel summary which consolidates questions and answers.

Live attendance will be limited to 50 online connections, so register early! This event is intended for sworn law enforcement or corrections or non-sworn members of crisis negotiation teams and will require an official email address for registration.  Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to answering questions, panel members are counting on this event to identify areas of need within the training environment, national guidelines, policy development, etc.  Your question and the subsequent answer may help add contour to the future of crisis negotiation.

Prior to the start of the training session, students will receive a hyperlink and password via the “Attendee Email” provided at the time of registration which will provide access to the training session.

For this reason, it is important this is an email address which will allow the attendee to access the email on the date and time of the training.

The course is intended to be interactive with online students, and so each student must be registered and participating with their own electronic device (computer, laptop, tablet, or cell phone).
